Baked Apples | Fertility Naturopath
Turkey weekend is upon us. This is one of my favourite holidays. I love the crisp fall air, the warm fires and the yummy foods this time of year calls for.
I have always enjoyed going to apple farm and pumpkin patches at this time of year, too.
I have created a recipe for baked apples this year. You can bring this to Thanksgiving dinner, or even enjoy it for any other day of the year.
Ingredients:
6 large apples
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbsp avocado oil
2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
Method:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lining a baking dish with parchment paper.
Slice the top off your apples and then core them to remove the seeds.
Place the apples in the baking dish.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine oats, walnuts and spices.
Then add in oil and either maple syrup or honey. Stir to combine.
Use the oat mixture to fill each apple allowing some to spill out the top.
Bake for 30 minutes or until soft.
Enjoy!
